My work experience ranges from working with Norwegian municipalities & government to extensive work experience within IOM Norway. During these years I have gained extensive technical expertise in developing, coordinating, and managing programs, as well as team management. · Interview asylum seekers (10 months)

Conducted asylum interviews with asylum seekers from the Horn of Africa, North Africa, Middle East etc. All interviews were conducted with authorized interpreters.

· Contributed to developing institutional interview templates as well ensuring the quality of the interviews of asylum seekers.

· Adviser at Directorate's Regional Office (8 months)
Focal Point for Reception Center for asylum seekers

Ensured that asylum seekers received adequate and differentiated services from Immigration authority. Among other duties, I worked with tasks related to asylum seeker's health, safety and security in reception centers, financial benefits to residents, grants to host municipalities, research, and development. I was responsible for providing good service to families with children who were residents at the reception centers.

Key achievements:
As a part of the interview team for asylum seekers in Norway, I collaborated closely with my colleagues to successfully achieve a 100% target completion rate for asylum seeker interviews within the given timeframe.

Mediator

National Mediation And Reconciliation Center
05.1998 - 05.2002

The National Mediation and Reconciliation Center is a public service that provides restorative process in penal and civil cases. As a mediator I worked part time, mainly in the evenings and on weekends with my main responsibility being in projects called Youth punishment and Youth follow- up (young offenders)

· Facilitator for a dialog between two parties that were in conflict or after an offence through a method called restorative process in both penal and civil cases.

Key achievements:
Part of the Norwegian delegation on network building in the field of Mediation and Reconciliation services between Norway and Albania.
Represented Norwegian National Mediator and Reconciliation Center as a delegate in two study trips to Albania.
Official translator for Manual for Mediator (from Albanian to Norwegian language)
Played a central role in the development of a comprehensive training video designed to onboard and train new staff members at the NMR Center

Refugee Advisor

Søgne Municipality

· The unit I worked in was responsible for settlement and qualification of refugees in the Municipality and for strengthening refugees’ opportunities to become independent and active participants in society.

· Focused on coordinating municipal services offered to refugees. This meant ensuring that newly arrived refugees themselves could find out about various social services. In addition, I worked to quality assure the services offered to refugees by other authorities and partners.

· Prepared proposals for the budget and had daily responsibility for funds.

· Liaised with Norwegian Directorate of Immigration and Directorate of Integration and Diversity as well as partners involved in integration of refugees in the Municipality.

· Disseminated information and provided guidance individually and in groups; this included education, career planning, as well as a variety of topics that were relevant to new arrivals in Norway.

Key achievements:
I lead an advocacy group aimed at lobbying the municipality council to allocate allowances for refugees wishing to repatriate. As a result of our efforts, the municipality I worked for became the first in the country to approve such support.
Over five years, Søgne municipality managed to integrate over 100 refugees.

Interpreter and Social Worker

Reception Center, Vennesla Municipality
08.1993 - 06.1994

· Worked at a Reception Center (RC) for asylum seekers as an interpreter in Albanian- Serbian - Norwegian. I also worked as a social worker with a focus on organizing/leading activities for families with minor children who were residents at the Reception Center.

Key achievements:
Successfully completed interpreter / translator course arranged by Norwegian Directorate of Immigration.
Facilitated a cultural event titled 'Welcome to Norway' to honor asylum seekers settled in municipality.
