Hailing from Zimbabwe, Jimu Makurumbandi is a multi-talented musician, dancer, choreographer, fitness trainer, actor and storyteller. A powerhouse of energy and talent. In addition to mastering the mbira and Kora instruments, Jimu performs and teaches contemporary and traditional African dance forms, and is conversant in modern, ballet and jazz styles as well. Jimu has toured Europe, worked long-term with TUMBUKA dance company, National Ballet of Zimbabwe and the State Ballet high school in Norway. He has many years of experience with Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) in multiple capacities. Jimu currently offers the fruits of his more than twenty years of dance experience as a dance teacher in Nesbyen Culture School in Norway.
