Work History

Wheelchair Vehicle Chauffeur/Professional Driver

Oslo Taxi
02.2023 - Current

I left VK Transport at the beginning of 2023, due the company having some financial issues and reducing their fleet size, and started almost immediately at another transport company. OsloTaxi is both the largest and oldest running taxi firm in Oslo, and they have upheld their services for over 100 years. I had to go through a couple of application stages before started, which included an interview, some knowledge based exams and a thorough data course. Whilst working for OsloTaxi for the past year I believe I am more confident and have also improved upon my norwegian communication skills, which I believe is vital for this role. I have driven 3 different types of vehicles with all 3 requiring a different style of service. The main 2 I want to briefly touch on are wheelchair passenger transport and TT special transport. Both of these roles entailed working with physically and/or mentally disabled individuals, for which I had to undergo special training to comfortably deal with any possible situation I could come across. These passengers could range anywhere from 5 to 100 years in age and all had to be treated according to their individual needs to ensure they were satisfied. Working in such a role has further taught me to be patient and handle everything with care all while being professional.

  • Enhanced client satisfaction by providing punctual, reliable transportation services and maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Built lasting relationships with clients through exceptional customer service and attentiveness to their needs.
  • Managed diverse itineraries, adapting quickly to schedule changes and last-minute requests from clients.
  • Remained up-to-date with flight schedules and monitored delays or cancellations closely to promptly adjust pick-up times as needed.
  • Ensured passenger safety by adhering to traffic laws and regulations at all times.
  • Maintained excellent vehicle cleanliness, both interior and exterior, for optimal client comfort.
  • Consistently navigated efficiently through various routes to reach destinations on time or ahead of schedule.

Wheelchair Vehicle Chauffeur/Professional Driver

VK Transport
07.2021 - 01.2023

After having worked at KFC for about a year I wanted to experience something in a different felid to further broaden and develop my skills. I decided to work for a company abroad that specialised in transport, including both transport of passengers and logistic. I have worked for this company in Oslo for a little over 18 months. Transport is a rapidly growing industry in Norway, especially in the capital city of Oslo. In order to work for this company I dedicated my time and money to gain the right driving qualifications and permits to ensure I was legally allowed to drive and operate the correct vehicles. I believe taking part in such a busy industry while in a completely different country, seeing what requirements/goals they have, how they work to achieve them, and what standard of service they expect from their employees has taught me a lot as an individual. Over this period I worked both day and night shifts with a team of over 50 people and was promoted to a manager position where I was responsible for a fleet of 5 vehicles. Alongside this work I took part in a language course to not only learn a new language but also to strengthen my understanding and communication towards the industry.

  • Answered, scheduled and responded to reservation calls at specific times and locations.
  • Assisted passengers with entering and exiting vehicles safely and securely stowed baggage to minimize damage risk.

KFC Team Member

EuroGarage
07.2020 - 06.2021

I worked for EuroGarage, at their KFC site in Frontier Park, for just under a year. Upon completion of my A levels I applied to work at one of the busiest sites in the area and after receiving minimal training was asked to join the team straight away due to a shortage of staff. I worked many hours a week and picked up numerous extra shifts to help my team provide an outstanding service during the pandemic and time of need. Despite living over 15 miles away I made sure to always be on time for my shift with a positive and helpful attitude for the work environment. My responsibilities included; serving customers in a polite, friendly and helpful manner, preparation of meals, cash handling, managing drive through, dealing with customer complaints and providing back-up coverage to serve customers with optimal support. Eurogarag is one of the largest retail groups in the country and has thousands of employees, to which I had the privilege to meet and receive an award for our store from the chief director of their fast food department.

Warehouse Operative

Boohoo
06.2020 - 07.2020

Straight after graduating from college in March 2020, I started looking for temporary summer work to save up some money in order to pay for my university fees. I started working at Boohoo as a warehouse operative, where I completed 12 hour night shifts 4 days a week. Working long night shifts has developed my physical speed and strength while also teaching me to be persistent and patient. At Boohoo we were set targets to complete a number of tasks per hour, which ensures effective time management and functionality of the task force. I worked with a large team of 200 people, which was at times incredibly challenging but developed me to deal with any scenario I was presented in a professional and efficient manner.

  • Checked packages and merchandise for damage and notified vendors.
  • Performed general housekeeping and cleaning tasks.
  • Identified inadequate materials and faulty equipment and brought to supervisors' attention.
  • Labeled and accurately moved customer orders to meet shipment timetables and minimize errors.
  • Recorded information, shortages and discrepancies to keep records current and accurate.

Garage Technician Assistant

Forge MOT
06.2019 - 08.2019

In the summer break after my first academic year at college I decided to invest my time gaining some work experience that would benefit me in the future. As I was applying for mechanical engineering at university and have always had a growing passion for motor vehicles, I figured it would be appropriate to spend my time familiarising myself with the tools and machinery used in that field. I worked at the garage/MOT centre for a little over a moth and one of the most valuable skills I learnt was prioritising tasks in order to use my time efficiently and effectively. I picked up many other skills while at this garage which I believe could be used in my day to day life.

Upon completing the interview stage and receiving the job I worked here as an assistant chef and a cashier.
