Solo Exhibitions

  • End of year Exhibition (2018), Yesterday still looks big, The past is a nice place, Thinking about yesterday, In these works, I explored the importance of the future eliciting the past and how the event of today is a repetition of yesterday. The use of visuals to help us communicate and to express ourselves. This was done by developing critical awareness of our social, political and historical importance of events to discuss prevailing issues of today by means of appropriating, and interweaving varying cultural and historical narratives.
  • Illusions (2016), In this work, my interest resonated around issues of memories, identity formation and time in relation to the self, the importance of the environment in the formation. I was interested in the layering of images, ideologies, experiences, habits and attitudes in the realization of culture and history. This was done by figuratively layering and depicting text or words, images and my emotions on a canvas by means of painting, drawing and writing.
  • The Lingering Shadows (2016), I was interested in how the past influence the future. The adaptation of an act, an attitude, culture or the rebirth of practice as a reformed element in another space. It has social and cultural implications with regards to affiliation, development, freedom, industrialization, identity formation and believes. My work explored the discussions of neo-colonialism as the last stage of imperialism today by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
  • Cycle and Recycle (2015), I was interested in interrogating issues of repetition and reformation of objects, materials, their relationship, purpose and importance within a specific space and the meaning of time and environment in which these elements exist. This was done by gluing seeds and papers together.
